Thursday, September 21 at 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

On Thursday, September 21, 2017, UN International Peace Day, the Durham yoga community is coming together as part of the Global Mala, an international movement for peace, in support of Pierce Freelon’s campaign for mayor. On this eve of the Fall Equinox let’s unite in the spirit of equality, justice and peace in action, and breathe the change we wish to see in Durham.

Beginning at 6:30pm at Living Arts Collective, Pierce will kick-off the event with an inspirational dharma talk. Carson Efird, Carrington Jackson and a collective of local yoga teachers will then offer an open-level practice including asana, pranayama and meditation creating space for peace and positive change within ourselves and our community. Everyone is welcome, bring a yoga mat if you have one. We so hope you and your friends and family can join us.

We are asking participants to contribute whatever they can, and there’s no minimum, but if each guests contributes between $10-20, we should be able to reach our goal of $1008. These funds will help Pierce’s campaign register voters, go door to door, and provide campaign resources to our community – all things critical to victory.
