Breaking The Cistem: A True Edition Discussion *FREE*
December 13, 2019 at 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm Living Arts Collective, 410 W Geer St, Durham, NC 27701, USA
A panel of trans and non-binary folks sharing their experiences, in a safe and loving space.
True Edition is a panel-based, open-discussion style event and web series. Created by spoken word poet Afronomenal, the goal of this series is to bring awareness to topics that are often *whispered* about, but never analyzed fully. For updates on events, casting, and vendor opportunities, follow the True Edition Instagram: @trueedition.
Breaking the Cistem will be our sixth discussion, the purpose of which being to give trans and non-binary people in the community space to share their experiences. During this event, we will have a panel of people who identify as trans, non-binary, or both, speaking on what its like to live outside the gender "norms" of society. We will also be discussing the history of these identities across black and brown cultures and how colonialism has affected societal ideas of gender.
The purpose of True Edition is to generate dialogue and healthy interactions between everyone present at the event. While the panel will be given the floor during the discussion, attendees are encouraged to ask questions and engage with the panel and each other.
This event is open to the public and to anyone who would like to be educated on what it is like to live as a trans or non-binary person in our society. This will be a safe space. ZERO transphobia will be tolerated.

By staying in poses for 3-5 minutes, space is created for deep healing and rejuvenation. This class is a beneficial experience for everyone, no matter where you are in your yoga practice!
