Laura Thomasson was a professional modern dancer, teacher, choreographer and director of Independent Dancemakers. She is a certified Shambava Yoga teacher through Shoshoni Ashram in CO, certified in Awareness Through Movement through Rocky Mountain Movement Educators also in CO, and has extensive training Body Mind Centering in NC including the skeletal, ligamentous, muscular and nervous systems, and senses and perceptions. Laura studied Laban/Bartenieff movement at the American Dance Festival in Durham. For over 20 years Laura has taught modern dance technique, ballet, Improvisation, choroeography and Yoga. She is in love with ecstatic dance and CI in all its perfectly diverse forms and is excited to share her knowledge with other movers to create and expand ease, power, joy and possibility.
