Welcome to Djembe FUNdamentals

In Africa life moves to the beat. Make rhythm the soundtrack of YOUR life. This winter, Teli Shabu teams up with Atiba Rorie of Africa Unplugged! Atiba, a Durham favorite has honed his musical skill from a life of studying, performing, and teaching the music of Africa and the diaspora internationally as well as nationally. Atiba brings his extensive knowledge and mellow teaching style to the course. Students will explore the rich legacy of the Djembe. Using the music of West Africa, we will begin to hone the basic techniques to enjoy playing Djembe music comfortably. Come jam!
