Sundays 9:00am – 10:30am
Yoga therapist, nina be (yoga therapist (c-iayt) e-ryt500) guides this 3 part practice to open the Bodymind, through the principles of Sthira (steadiness) and Sukha (ease).
Section l of the class begins with centering, embodiment practices from developmental anatomy, supported by the 8 Limbs of Yoga.
Section ll elaborates upon 12 essential MBCY yoga postures (Savasana, Bakasana, Tadasana, Uttanasana, Ashva Sanchalanasana, Phalakasana, Adho Mukha Svasana, Sirsasana, Salamba Sarvangasana, Urdhva Dhanurasana, Eka Pada Kapotasana & Matsyendrasana.) This work harnesses the ancient techniques of hatha/raja yoga, to facilitate optimal strength, balance and focus. Students are invited to participate at their own level of need.
Section lll is an invitation to find a comfortable way of being quiet in the bodymind supported by MBCY Yoga Nidra with singing bowls. Sometimes called a ‘sound bath’, these are sessions of soothing vibrations from sacred metal and crystal singing bowls, to soften and open stuck energy that may block ones access to healing + joy.
